Care Ring's Nurse-Family Partnership program was highlighted by WSOC-TV reporter DaShawn Brown as an important tool in addressing Charlotte's problem with economic mobility for those in poverty.
NFP Nurse Tess Whitlock, her client Denise Ward, and Executive Director Donald Jonas, PhD, were interviewed for the story about how NFP is breaking the cycle of poverty for not only first-time mothers, but their babies as well.
“Regardless of what situation a mom presents herself in, (this program has the) connections across the community that you can actually show 15 years after the intervention. The little one is more likely to stay in high school, to get into the workforce and not be incarcerated,” said Dr. Jonas.
