We were honored to be chosen to host a press conference on August 7, 2024 for Governor Roy Cooper and NC Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kody Kinsley about their new Hospital Medical Debt Relief program!
Our CEO, Tchernavia Montgomery, MSW welcomed the Governor with these remarks:
"Last week, our state made yet another leap towards its 2024 health priorities. Still celebrating the expansion of Medicaid, medical debt relief for our most vulnerable further adds to the investments made into the lives of North Carolinians. While Care Ring is but one organization amongst thousands, we are proud to stand in collective solidarity with our government, health systems and stakeholders. Together, we can collectively strive towards equitable health and well-being for all – regardless of their income. We acknowledge the barriers that many face in both access and affordability of care, as it has been our mission since 1955 to stand in this gap. We are grateful to host the Governor and Secretary Kinsley as they share this historic announcement, as it aligns so closely to our organization’s mission and vision for the underserved."
