Care for All Date

Legendary folk and bluegrass musician Si Kahn joined us for Care Ring's inaugural "Hob Nob" event to thank and celebrate our supporters in Charlotte on April 21, 2016.

Katie Oates joined Si to sing "Care for All," a song Si wrote many years ago, and which he graciously offered to Care Ring to help promote our mission.

A link to their live performance can be found here.

What was the creative spark for the song?

From Si Kahn's biography: "Someone asked what some of the best healthcare songs might be, and none of us could think of any. A situation like that can’t be allowed to continue…To me, this is what community is about: caring for each other, and working together to make life better for all of us."

Care for All

When trouble arrives
And stares in our window
Blocking out all we can see
We ask ourselves
The same old question
Who will be there for me?

If we care for our sister
Care for our brother
Always answer the call
If we care for our neighbor
Care for each other
There will be care for all

When our health breaks
Like a dam on the river
And high waters cover the trees
We look around
Quietly asking
Who will be there for me?

If we care for our sister
Care for our brother
Always answer the call
If we care for our neighbor
Care for each other
There will be care for all

When old age comes
To stand in my doorway
And pain drives me down to my knees
I will find peace
To know there is someone
Who will be there for me

If we care for our sister
Care for our brother
Always answer the call
If we care for our neighbor
Care for each other
There will be care for all
There will be care for all
