Did You Know? Labor Day Edition:

- About 20-26% of American workers are not offered or don't have access to health insurance through their employers.

- About 88% of management/professional workers have access to job-based health benefits, but only about 52% of service occupation workers do.

-Care Ring provides vital medical care to those who don't have health insurance and who don't qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. We keep people healthy so they can provide for themselves and their families.

- We will be closed Monday, September 7th in recognition of Labor Day and so our staff can recharge and be with their families.

It's Community Health Worker Week! Yesterday we celebrated the CHWs in our A Guided Journey program not only for that occasion, but also because AGJ is turning 5 YEARS OLD on 8/31! The program was started in partnership with @mecklenburgcounty in response to the disparities in infant health and mortality rates, which have shown improvement, thanks to initiatives like this. Last year, AGJ served 525 families, providing critical home visitation services, resource connection, and ensuring post-partum moms and their babies had a medical home. As if all that isn't enough reason to celebrate, 9 of our CHWs are closing in fast on their doula training, which will only enhance the wonderful care and outcomes for this special program.
