Tchernavia Montgomery

Executive Director

Tchernavia serves as Care Ring’s Executive Director, advancing the organization’s vision of a community that promotes, protects and improves the health and well-being of all people. A trusted community leader, Tchernavia is a licensed clinical social worker with two decades of experience in health and human services. She is a double graduate from UNCC’s School of Social Work (BSW ’08 and MSW ’09) and is a member of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Sherresa Falls

Sherresa Falls

Director of Maternal Child Health

Sherresa Falls oversees our two maternal child health programs, Nurse-Family Partnership and A Guided Journey. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from N.C. A&T State University and earned her Master of Science in Human Services from Capella University. Beginning her career journey as a labor and delivery nurse, Sherresa has spent the majority of her career as a leader within the Maternal Child Health space both within the hospital system and public health. A huge proponent of home visitation and targeted case management services for vulnerable families, she has made a difference in the health of parents, children and the community by promoting healthy child development and good parenting skills. Sherresa volunteers throughout the community and serves on both the N.C. A&T State University Alumni Chapter and their Reunion Board. She spends her downtime traveling and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Kaaren Sailer, MD

Chief Medical Director

Dr. Sailer has been our Medical Director for two decades.  She spends her time in the clinic caring for patients, collaborating with our nurse practitioners and supporting all of our work related to direct patient care.  She also provides assistance to Physicians Reach Out, Case Management and Nurse-Family Partnership as needed. Dr. Sailer grew up in the Pacific Northwest, near Seattle, earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and completed medical school at the University of Washington.

Rebecca Palmer

Chief Operations Officer

Rebecca provides strategic direction and support across all of Care Ring’s programs, manages our data and analytics, and program evaluation and research. Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and her master's at the University of California-Berkeley. She lives in Efland, NC with her husband and two young boys.

Paula Culp

Chief Administrative Officer

Paula Culp is responsible for managing all of our grant contracts and billing processes; accounts payable; employee engagement and Diversity Equity and Inclusion.  Paula earned her Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.  In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, crochet, read and she hopes to resume traveling in the near future.

Stephanie Malloy

Director of Programs

In her role, Stephanie Malloy oversees our volunteer provider program, Physicians Reach Out, and our community-based health initiatives. Stephanie has years of healthcare experience in both the private and governmental sectors where she has led in areas such as Medicaid service coordination, quality/performance data improvement, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) workflow implementation. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Health Information Management & Systems from University of South Carolina Upstate, and earned her Masters in Health Service Administration from Strayer University.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, interior decorating, and enhancing her community through various service projects.

Jennifer Frey

Director of Individual Giving

In her role as Director of Individual Giving, Jennifer is responsible for creatively stewarding our existing donors and engaging prospective donors through a variety of touchpoints. She began her fundraising career as a volunteer for a local autism walk as their Co-Chair before entering the nonprofit sector full-time in 2006. She has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector in the health and human service arena. Her volunteer activities have included board service to two local disability organizations, as well as serving on the Council of Educational Services for Exceptional Children, reporting to the North Carolina State Board of Education. She is an active member of the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and completed her Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University in 2012. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Humanities with a professional concentration in Child Life from Wheelock College in Boston.

Heidi Hannon

Director of Grants & Administration

Heidi Hannon is Care Ring’s Director of Grants & Administration, securing grant-based funding from a variety of governmental, private foundation, corporate, faith-based and civic organizations. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University and a Master’s degree from Winthrop University. Heidi has spent over 25 years working in the Charlotte-area non-profit world in grant writing, management and administration. Outside of work she enjoys travel, reading and spending time with her large family.

Jennifer Andrews

Director of Communications & Events

As Care Ring's "head cheerleader and hype woman," Jennifer oversees all marketing and communications to ensure the community is aware of our services and the positive impact we and our supporters are making for our vulnerable neighbors. She also acts as liaison for our corporate sponsors and coordinates our two annual flagship events. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for over two decades, including animal welfare, child welfare, and mental health. She holds a Masters of Education in Counseling from Clemson University and has lived in Charlotte since 2001.
