We are honoring the visionary who helped make this work possible by establishing an endowment to ensure Care Ring's continued impact upon helping the uninsured and lower-income in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region.

Honoring Dr. John Klimas, founder of Physicians Reach Out

Dr. Klimas's leadership and compassion built one of the most remarkable care networks in our region.

Today, under Care Ring's banner, Physicians Reach Out (PRO) has a network of over 1,600 volunteer physicians who uphold this vision, and serve more than 5,700 patients annually.

Since PRO’s inception in 2004, more than $557,000,000 in charitable care has been delivered.

Your gift today ensures that this legacy continues for many years to come.

Creating Care for Tomorrow

 When you give to support Care Ring’s future, you create long term stability for programs that help individuals and families overcome the barriers standing between them and good health. This includes free and low-cost primary care, specialty referrals through dedicated volunteer physicians, and maternal and child health support.

An estimated 14.3% of Mecklenburg County residents are uninsured. For those living at or below 138% of the federal poverty level, that number jumps to 32%. Your generosity ensures that every neighbor in need can find compassionate care and a healthier future.
